ROM Monitoring

From 2002 to 2007, for two contract periods, LASO participated in the E.C. Project Monitoring System for Latin America.

Project Monitoring implies short annual visits to each E.C.-financed project in Latin America, using the E.C. Project Cycle Management and Logical Framework methodology. The aim of Monitoring is to systematically improve the quality of E.C. development cooperation, improving the communication between projects and E.C. Delegations, timely detecting eventual problems, and reaching comparative conclusions on intervention processes and methodologies.

Each year some 200 projects of every thematic, geographic or horizontal budget line are monitored, executed by Governments, local authorities , NGO’s or social organisations in over 20 countries.

The Monitoring System was operated by the consortium of EPTISA (Spain), Agriconsulting (Belgium), SORCA (Belgica) and LASO (The Netherlands).
