LASO offers specialized high-level training courses on international co-operation, public policies, economic development issues, integrated strategies, project design and management, M&E approaches, inclusion, and related topics.
LASO also carries out policy studies in the education field, analysis of education systems, curricular development, impact evaluation, training-for work programmes, intercultural and translingual education studies.
Our courses follow a participatory approach and are directly informed by our research and consultancy work. We speak the language of various donors and international development bodies: OECD, European Union, IADB, GIZ, AECID, Dutch Development Cooperation, WB, and the UN system.
Some examples have been:
- Local Culture and Peace, Colombia
- Gender and Penal Justice, Guatemala
- Food security and climate change, Andean Region
- Latin American contexts, The Netherlands
Each training is designed “tailor-made” and jointly with the participating organizations, adapting the contents, the level and the format to their needs and conditions, be it Ministries, local authorities, civil society, social and environmental organizations. Careful needs and curriculum analysis, specifically selected teams of experts and facilitators, and systematic impact monitoring, guarantee the quality of the process.
Training modalities are adapted to each case: with group or individual focus, in English, Spanish, Portugese, French, Dutch or other languages, to be held in Europe, Latin America or elsewhere, or as a virtual course (e-learning).
Our upcoming training courses are:
- Methods and strategies in international cooperation.
- Climate change: adaptation and mitigation.
- History, culture and politics of Latin America.
