Product chains against poverty
The Alliance for Inclusive Business between SNV (Dutch organization for development cooperation) and WBCSD (World Business Council for Sustainable Development) which operated in Latin America promotedĀ a private-sector led strategy for inclusive development, incorporatingĀ small producers into sustainable value chains, stimulating employment generation and the role of the private sector- led program designed to promote social development linking small producers with large companies, in poverty alleviation. The programme was taken up and replicated by Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Central and South America.
LASO carried out the final evaluation of the SNV-WBCSD Alliance (2011-2012): an institutional and impact study coveringĀ six countries (Peru, Bolivia, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Ecuador and Honduras) and sectors such as renewable energy (biofuels), food (coffee, dairy) and others.
